I'm from Denver and visiting family in Bay City, we came here for the healthy food and cozy atmosphere. I had a egg sandwich with sausage and cheese which I thoroughly enjoyed. I was worried that having breakfast for dinner, the portions would be small when they are quite the opposite. It was large, piping hot and devoured quickly. I would recommend if you're in the area and haven't been in before, stop on in

My wife and I have only had breakfast here -- a quick and easy meal that always leaves us satisfied. Loves: The breakfast sandwich or one of the scrambles. Commitment to using healthy ingredients - a BIG plus. Likes: The Belgian waffle. And waitstaff is friendly. Room for improvements: Not the quickest service. Coffee is pretty weak.

Food was delicious. Service could have been a but better. I would go back. Had the roasted red pepper wrap.

This place is fantastic. The decor and furniture makes you feel like you're at home. The service is fast and friendly and the food is delicious. They offer lots of housemade dishes that are super flavorful and nutrient dense. I had the vegan BLT with Heather's home fries and it was AMAZING. The tofu bacon was the best I've ever had and the almond mayo was a pleasant surprise. Light and very creamy. Anytime I'm in the area I will be stopping here.

Not Vegan or vegetarian.. In order to be either you have to adhere to strict standards, they do not. Also, rude and incompetent when it comes to customer service.

Average, but not near the five star rating we were excited for. Everyone's eggs were over cooked and dry. The ambience, service and selection are good. Overall it's an ok place.

  • Sue G.

We drove quite a distance to eat here - and it was OK. The ambiance was nice - old building and decorated with vintage items; it is basically one block off the main street by the water front. Every table and chair set was different - fun. The server was VERY pleasant and helpful with the menu. They do have vegan and vegetarian items - but . .not organic, which is our desire (along w/the vegan/vegetarian). They have a special every day - I ordered the special sandwich that day - I honestly don't remember exactly what it was - sounded good - and it was good - what there was of it!!!! I could not believe the small size (for the price.) I basically never eat a full sandwich - but I did this one. You can choose a side, also - and there was a unique and fun variety there. They also have a bakery and a number of people came in and picked up a goodie to take and eat. One person who ordered "to go" came back as the order was wrong.

I had the french toast, it was alright. We we're super excited to try this place as me and my husband are vegatarian but honestly we could have gone to cracker barrel for twice the food and half the price. Disappointed, 4 stars though for the friendly staff.

We lucked out and found Heather's in Bay City. Even though we showed up 15 minutes before they closed on Memorial Day, they still seated us cheerfully. They have lots pf great vegetarian options. Quirky place with lots of charm.

Totally fresh wonderful ingredients, very unique menu items, and they also serve breakfast all day!!! Fantastic!!!

  • Amanda C.

Love this place. First off was pleasantly surprised that they had meat options. I had the chicken salad sandwich with a side of butternut squash. Delish! My mom had the black bean burger which was also phenominal. Its nice to have options that include veggies and meat alternatives. Our server asked us to decide on dessert while we were still eating which made me feel rushed, but it did not dampen the experience. Excited to go back.

Really enjoyed our first visit here...the supercute "shabby chic" decor is perfect in Bay City's antiques district. Our service was friendly, our meals (vegan empanadas, a chalkboard menu special) were delicious, and we found ourselves wanting to come back. While vegetarian and vegan dishes are spotlighted here, omnivores have choices too. -- chicken, salmon, beef.

  • Sarah T.

Best food in the world, everything I have tried which is almost everything on the menu was inanely delicious!! Cant really think of anything negative... Oh I got one they close at 2pm most days which is sad. Love Love Love! Go vegan!!

  • Tommy V.

Heathers is incredible. The food is made with great care and love. Quality ingredients make this the place, that when you leave, you are more healthy than when you walked in. The service is very attentive. Stacy was not rushing us. Knew the menu, in great detail. Took care of all my needs. If you are traveling through, or live here. Get to know this place. Well worth going out of your way for good food. I will stop here when ever I can, you should too. And don't be shy, ask for Stacy, for the best service!!

Very friendly staff, the falafel was very good. A nice place to get lunch in downtown Bay City. Will definitely go back.

  • Em M.

Uhhhh, super amazing delicious! The portions are huge and the price is cheap. Helpful and friendly waitstaff. I got an avocado salad and added grilled salmon on top. I've gotten good food in Chicago, San Francisco, Hong Kong, and New York, yet this little joint in Bay City is still near the top of my list. Extremely vegan and veggie friendly.

    (5)
  • Chad S.

Some people would love it. I'm a picky eater. Mostly meat and potatoes meals for me. I didn't care for much on the menu. But my wife and daughter loved it.

    (3)
  • Laura N.

Absolutely love their food! The options are endless with their breakfast/brunch type items to lunch and dinner. The chalkboard menu with specials always has me indecisive. Love the fruit sandwich, crab cake sandwich and chocolate cake. The best and only vegan place in our area!

    (4)
  • Dan S.

What a pleasant surprise in Bay City Michigan! Thoroughly enjoyed the "unchicken" sandwich. Dining companion had the tofu bacon BLT and enjoyed that. Tomato basil soup was good though a little salty and could have used a dash of almond milk to smooth it out. The two sides selected were vegan potato casserole and baked winter squash. Both outstanding.

    (4)
  • Taylor S.

Normally a good experience. Don't try the black bean burger. Texture of baby poop and about the same flavor. Hash browns were burned. Paid $11 for a lunch I took 3 bites of. Now I'm going back to work hungry.

Great spot with a variety of healthy foods. You'd think you were in california, if not for the reasonable prices!

  • Melissa M.

Great place to stop for fresh good food. The waitress was polite and it's really cute inside. Vegans and vegetarians would have plenty to choose from.

    (4)
  • Joshua S.

Reasonably priced food, Very well presented, with obvious care put into it. Very fast service. Taste was excellent as a result of quality ingredients. I had the crab cake, and my wife had the pot pie, both excellent dishes, with great cookies for dessert. Will come back again!

    (5)
  • Aidalys C.

Not bad but not the best either. Not just vegetarian which was nice. They had a good sized menu. I had the egg sandwich on an English muffin and ordered hash browns a la carte. The sandwich was good, the hash browns are ok.

    (4)
  • Jason G.

We had an awesome breakfast. We are certainly coming back again! Coconut pancakes were in special and they were delicious. My wife had a scramble and it was very good. Finished it off with an Almond Joy hot chocolate. Amazing.

  • Kris P.

I am now changing my review to two stars because the past few times we've eaten there the food has been extremely disappointing...today it was downright disgusting! I don't understand why they refuse to scramble their eggs that are advertised as a "scramble," but that's their prerogative, I guess...and it's my prerogative to take my business elsewhere.

Sometimes I wish that I lived in Bay City just so I could go to Heathers on the daily. I was introduced to this restaurant a few years ago from a dear friend who lived in the area. She knew myself and another friend were vegetarian and recommended it for us. We LOVED it! I live over an hour a way but several times now I have made the trek back just to go to Heathers. I hope to go back soon as well. The place is quaint and adorable. It is small and intimate and lovely. I do warn that the hours are a little strange so you may want to look at that before going The food is so unique and tasty. I LOVE the Mediterranean Veggie Burger so much! I can't wait to return!

    (5)
  • Michael N.

Great place to eat, service is good, and everyone is friendly. The have vegan and vegetarian food. I've never had a bad meal here.

    (4)
  • Jessica J.

I'm not a vegetarian but had my first meal here about 2 years ago but ever since then became a regular. Try their Mediterranean Sandwich. It's so good! I'm a meat lover, but this sandwich is more delicious than any meaty sandwich!

  • Monica D.

We stayed in Bay City last year on our way home from a UP backpacking trip and found this place for breakfast. It is SO GOOD that we drove three hours out of our way on our way home from the same trip this year just to eat here again. The food is delicious and the portions are great. Check the specials board, there is always something good and unique to order. Definitely worth our drive today.

Stopped in on a weekend getaway to Bay City. We'd like to pack Heather's up and take it back to Ohio with us! Fantastic food and super-friendly service! The fruit sandwich was amazing.

  • Erica B.

Ordered the appetizer special (chips + guac) and the guac came out mostly brown. We told server we weren't going to eat it and she said she'd take it off our bill (though at no point did she apologize or offer to bring us something else). I had unfortunately ordered a main course that also had guac on it and that came out mostly brown. The side I ordered also didn't come out as expected. Our server was friendly but overall the food was pretty bad. Will not go back.

  • Lauren M.

A downtown gem! Best food in Bay City, prepared with fresh ingredients and made from scratch with care. Don't pass it up because of the vegan billing- there are plenty of options on the menu for veggies and carnivores alike!

  • Anne M.

Heather rocked my world yesterday. I've heard many good things about Heather's, so naturally, I wanted to try it for myself, and I loved pretty much everything about the place. The decor is charming / country / antiques. I felt like we were in some southern country kitchen. There were several white suspended ceiling fans, lots of intricate wooden detailing along the ceilings, and walls/corners, with hardwood floors throughout. The tables are all different - most of them are unique solid wood tables with equally unique chair sets. There are some nice big wooden hutches near the entry as well. All these little decorative touches really make this place look great. My mom and I staked out a cute little table all the way in the back of the dining space. We split a veggie & egg scramble (avocado, carrot, tomato, cheese, cucumber) with thick slices of sunflower wheat toast, and a plate of the baked pancakes (in muffin form) with banana, toasted almonds & homemade granola, and a side of vegan bacon. Yah. Doesn't that all sound delicious? It was. The menu had lots of other equally enticing options, including a full lunch menu. There's also daily specials, and a bakery case full of fresh breads and treats. *We ordered two loaves of that great sunflower wheat bread to go. Lovely restaurant - thank you Heather!

  • Nikki B.

The owner was so nice, and helpful. we talked with him for quite a while about the establishment. Our food was to die for. We had breakfast, and it was great. Their homemade granola... YUMM!!!! Service was great, coffee refilled frequently... what more could you ask for?

  • Brooke R.

Super cute downtown Bay City location, right near the waterfront. Service is friendly and quick, even though we walked in right during a rush. Lots of vegetarian options, with the opportunity to be vegan simply by removing cheese. Good coffee and made-to-order soup. Perfect for a fresh option and great for vegetarians in this meat and potatoes region.

I heard how good this place was so had to check it out. Everyone in my family was very pleased. I am celiac so I asked for GF recommendations. The GF items are not marked on the menu but a waitress who was familiar with the ingredients gave me helpful information. My choice was a salad with toasted walnuts, dried cranberries, red onions and I added the salmon which was cooked perfectly and had the mud vein removed. I topped that with the cucumber dill dressing. Two in our party had the black bean burger on ciabatta with guacamole, and another had veggie burger on the sunflower bread. Homey atmosphere, very friendly staff, always checking on us and refilling drinks. Value is good.

  • Molly B.

Dinner was good, and very reasonably priced, but dessert was the highlight. The pumpkin cream pie with gingersnap crust caught me totally off guard, in a good way. They have a solid dessert menu here, and after eyeballing the rest of downtown, this has to be the best restaurant in Bay City.

  • Josh S.

Terrible! Went there for lunch with a friend, and the door was locked. I looked inside and the worker just looked up at me, then went back to what she was doing like I wasn't even there! You have to be kidding me! These people do not deserve to be in business!

The lady who picks up the order for delivery is super unfriendly..Each time I call (english my second language), I get really offended by how they (there are two ladies) talk to me (I didn't have any problem ordering food from other restaurant). And today I ordered food for delivery, and I didn't get it! (I knew from the start...) I waited 30 mins (wasn't sure how long it will take), called to find out how long it will take more, the lady (who is super unfriendly..)said delivery man is already on the way, so waited for 15 mins more, and she called asking "is your food delivered?" I said "no" and she said "sorry" and hung up....so I called back again and she said my delivery man couldn't find your place, so can you come and pick it up?" what??? this is not my first time ordering from here. But I knew that they didn't really care about my order... I guess they think their food is so good that they can be rude to a person (w/t english as second language).. I keep thinking about posting this review, and push it off since I don't want to write the bad review.. But.. they should be better with their services (even though I order one food, I still pay delivery fee and tip too. I think even though my english isn't perfect, I have the right to receive the good service as others...) thank you for reading my post.

Celiacs be warned! Despite the older reviews on here, they now have very few gluten free options. They used to serve gluten free bread, however there wasn't enough interest to keep in stock. Also, their salad dressings contain gluten. Although their slogan is "specialty foods for every taste", that only pertains to non gluten free tastes I presume.

  • M P.

Heather's is probably one of the top places to dine in Bay City. The charm in their restaurant is superb and the food is always exceeding expectations. My favorite is the black bean burger, which might not sound that good, but it's amazing with avocado. The prices are so reasonable!

Best food in Bay City! I love Heathers! You can always count on unique and delicious menu items at a fair price! YUMMY! O, and I met my husband here! ;)

  • Jessica M.

I'm still a huge fan of Heather's and I think it keeps getting better, as I've updated my star rating to 5. Hands down, the best place to dine in Bay City and the whole tri-city area. I hope someday, they'll be open for dinner 7 days a week. Follow them on Facebook for the weekend specials, which are sure to be amazing. Usually, they offer two vegan specials and two ominovore. Must haves - any desert offered, any soup offered, the raw sandwich with homemade red pepper hummus, the Un-Chicken sandwich and if you can get it, the homemade cashew/nut cheeses...as featured in the TO-DIE-FOR Buffalo Un-Chicken Mac and Cheese. Heather and company, I'm your biggest fan. (stalker) :)

  • Marry N.

The only reason why I'm giving heathers 4 stars instead of 5 is because they aren't open for dinners on the weekdays. Their food is very tasty is delicious! I usually get the steak wrap and it never fails. They do delivery which is fantastic! I've actually never ate inside the restaurant because I always get delivery. I love how they make everything from scratch. All of their side dishes are cooked to perfection. Very tasty without being too salty. Definitely recommend this place!

Ive never been more insulted in my life. My sister and I ordered the "Broccoli, red pepper, and wheat berry" soup and did not care for it. Neither of us finished more than a few bites, which is rare for us. Our waitress was resistant to making up for the bad soup. We had to specifically ask twice if they would please remove it from the bill and our waitress had to check with the owner, which I found strange. The waitress recommended that next time we avoid the soup and get an appetizer instead. When we timidly asked for a substitution for said appetizers (since we didn't eat our soup), she said she had to check with the owner, who eventually said no. THE NEXT PART IS THE WORST. Some manager came up to our table and DEMANDED to know why we didn't like the soup. He was wondering why we were unhappy with what we got when it was so "clearly named." He thought that since we knew the vegetables in the soup we should know exactly what it would taste like, which is rubbish. Not once in this rude exchange did he apologize for our experience or offer any kind of substitute. He even went as far as asking if we were "from New York," which I am assuming was supposed to be an insult, because we had the courage to say that we did not like the soup. He was abrasive, awkward, and impolite. This was a horrible first impression, and I will never go back. I made this Yelp account just to report this story. If this experience has given me anything, it is a story I can tell people when discussing "worst dining experiences."

Vegan? No thank you is what I usually say. I like meat and animal product goodness. But occasionally I crave for an herbivorian diet. Today was one of those days. I stopped in almost close to closing time (2pm) and I was seated promptly. I ordered the roasted red pepper wrap with tomatoes, avocado, mushrooms and put goat cheese in there instead of swiss. It came with a side of something and I chose the red potato fries. They were actually llike homestyle potatoes finely chopped with a mild cheese sauce on top. The wrap came with a side of red pepper mayo which was pretty good in limited quantity spoken from a hater of mayo. The meal was delicious and totally appropriate for lunch. I can see why people wanna eat vegan if its that delicious. My choice wasn't vegan but they do have a few options on the menu. They also have steak and carnivorous options too. The inside of the restaurant is cozy in a tan color and little pictures framed everywhere. I'd venture to try the breakfast next. I hear its not bad vegan style.

Outside: Great unassuming old clean store front Inside: Charming and comfortable shabby chic Food: The best real food for the money in Bay City Cost: Very reasonable Heather's has become one of our favorite places to eat brunch on the weekends. We have in some form tried nearly everything on the menu minus the dinner menu. The food is real and tastes that way, and the coffee is great. I personally love the egg scramble with caramelized onions, portabella mushrooms, and gorgonzola cheese. Also anything with humus is a winner. I would avoid the soups as they do not live up to the standard of the rest of the menu. They do promote a vegan/vegetarian, but are meat friendly with plenty of options. Seems like a great marketing tool because that is hard to find. We do wish that they would have a chicken sandwich without being part of a crepe, scramble, or wrap. I am recommending this place to those that have not been in a while or ever. Again, best food for the money.

  • Dave R.

Very vegan friendly, including desserts. Also has vegetarian, gluten-free, meat, and kid friendly options. Low prices too. Everything was wonderful, with the exception of the roasted potatoes. Most days only open from 8 to 2.

  • Julie L.

Just when I thought Heather's was back on track, I got charged for a condiment...50 cents for a tablespoon of bbq sauce! The un-chicken was very tough and the place smelled very musty. So disappointed.

  • Megan K.

What a cute place! And our server, ashley was awesome too! Hours sun-thurs are 8-2pm. Fri and Sat theyre open 8-8pm. They even deliver! Great choice of good for you food, ranging from sandwiches, wraps, egg scrambles, soups...they have delicious crepes too! Theres even a chicken or seitan pot pie for $7 that includes a side dish.

  • Joey V.

Not the biggest fan. Felt this place is cool for having vegetarian options, but the food is usually something to be desired. Portions are fine, but many menu items are lacking craft and flavor. Two stars for decent coffee.

    (2)
  • Tom R.

Everything tastes great and fresh lots of vegan choices. Coffee tastes great. Belgian waffles are fantastic. Two eggs $1.50 are you kidding me? Quite reasonable prices for fresh tasting food and friendly waitresses. We came in for breakfast or lunch 3 days in a row while in town and I'm not even vegetarian!

    (5)
  • Jesse M.

Easily the best food I had during my vacation. The black bean burger was well-balanced and satisfying. The red pepper hummus was just as good as the yelp reviews had said. The decor however does not compliment the food. It reminded me of Old Country Buffet. Still I will definitely be going back to this place every time I'm in Bay City!

  • Chelsea L.

Heather's is my favorite restaurant in the Bay City area. I've been there many times (I estimate at 10 or more), and I've never been disappointed. I almost always order off the Specials board, and I find the food is always fresh, well prepared, and (most importantly) completely homemade. I've ordered just about everything across the board. and I find their savory dishes like sandwiches and wraps to be my favorite. And the appetizer roasted red pepper hummus and pita = amazing. I'm so happy there's a restaurant like this in the B.C.

  • Johnny X.

Yelp helps again. Traveling up north to Torch Lake looking for a healthy alternative to fast food we found Heather's in Bay City, Mi. Another great find. Varied menu with vegan, vegetarian & meat dishes. Service was friendly& great. Roasted red pepper hummus appetizer with pita was excellent. Waitress even brought a gluten free cracker for one in our group. Guys had the chicken pot pie which had big chunks of chicken, veggies, a flakey crust& lots of flavor. Gals had three different salads...an apple-pear, a garden salad with salmon & an avocado-black bean with chicken. All were fresh with crisp greens that they thoroughly enjoyed. The citrus vinaigrette was very tasty. Tomatoes in my tomato/mozzarella/basil side dish were ok, but not vine ripened. Yelp makes traveling so much nicer!

I eat every meal possible in 4 days time when I am in the area once a year. A couple of my coworkers and I really get excited to eat here when we have to Bay City. I am from Chicago and very much so a foodie. I have not had anything bad here or even further anything mediocre. Some of my favorites are: Grilled Oatmeal (yes I said GRILLED!), egg scrambles, sunflower wheat toast, waffles, baked grapefruit.... and a wide variety of baked goods! After my last meal, I stock up and bring a few items back to Chicago for family and friends.

  • Sarah G.

I was so excited to learn that Bay City has a vegan restaurant that I had to try it during my last trip back to visit my family. Being in Phoenix I actually have choices for vegan and vegetarian fare. Also, I'd like to include that I'm not vegan but I have a huge appreciate for vegan food done well. The food here was pretty good. I had an egg (real egg) scramble and tofu bacon. The bacon was pretty good too. I know they have regular "meat stuffs" on their menu, one thing I may suggest is to branch out and serve chicken and turkey sausage or bacon as well. The atmosphere here is good. The owner was very nice. I will definitely go back the next time I'm in town.

Loved Heather's from the staff to the food - great! Had the empanada's at the request of the waitress - it was wonderful. The restaurant was crowded and the service was great. All made to order, so it took a moment to get the food, worth the wait.

  • Jake S.

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place. Honest I think that I just ate here so much I figured I must have review it already. Most of my bay city reviews compare against this place because this definitely the best/healthiest place to get grub. They make everything and I mean everything themselves down to the crackers and mayo. This place would be a perfect fit in a place like royal oak or ferndale. I'm just happys have it here.

    (5)
  • Gigi F.

Wouldn't have ventured in without Yelp! I ordered the Veggie wrap and hummus, it was very fresh, and tasted wonderful. Prices were reasonable. The service wasn't great - I felt rushed even though the place was almost empty. I'd go back, and I'll try something from the breakfast menu next! Looked yummy!

  • Greg H.

Vegan is just one aspect of this excellent restaurant. Finally! A great restaurant in Bay City. This place really get's it. The food is fantastic! Marketed as a vegan restaurant, but don't be scared away, there are plenty of meat dished on the menu to satisfy everyone's pallet. The decor is elegant and as pretty as the meals. During peak hours the noise level can be a bit overwhelming. Hopefully they can fix that by hanging some sound dampeners from the ceiling.

    (5)
  • R K.

Great breakfast stop. The tofu scrambles are delicious and full of veggies. Unfortunately the cheesy "lite rock" music playing in the background make it feel like you're in a dentist's office.

  • Rew P.

This is one of my favorite places to eat in the Tri-cities. They have a variety of options for traditional eaters, vegans, and gluten free. The roasted red pepper spread is amazing. The gluten free is never labeled, so it can be confusing and the servers don't always know. GF on the menu and Board would be greatly helpful.

Very hipster restaurant. Loved that all of their food is so fresh and healthy! Would return!

A beacon in a vegan desert! We passed through here and enjoyed all their fare. Pleased vegan and lacto-ovos alike. Vegan cole slaw and pot pie were very yum! Staff is friendly, no long waits to get seated or get food. Highly recommended if you're vegan (or not) and in Bay City!

After moving from Bay City, I realized my Heather's review was done the first week it was open. This is now unacceptable and an update is necessary, for at that time I did not know what was in store for the future. For the past year and a half, I frequented Heather's for lunch (read: 2-3 times a week) up until moving day, and my last Bay City meal was the seitan pot pie. I could write a Russian novel on the food I love from this wonderful local eatery. In particular, I give 5 stars to the vegan BLT, the seitan pot pie, the crab cake sandwich, the black bean burger, the vegan steakhouse burger (hands down the best veg "burger" I have ever had), the falafel, the vegan mac n cheese with buffalo "unchicken," the salmon sandwich (with vegan bacon!), the "southwest" salad and, as for the sides, the house potatoes, tomato mozz salad, and vegetable wontons. Basically any broth-based soup was included in my order as well and the flavor of Heather's soups is unrivaled. There are a number of other top-notch dishes but because these dishes were my regular rotation, I had to give them the praise they deserve. Heather and her staff were wonderful every single time I ventured over, which, as noted, was incredibly frequent, and I am both delighted and saddened to say that Heather's is in my top 3 favorite restaurants of anywhere I've dined (delighted because of all the great meals, saddened because I now live 100 miles away).

An impromptu trip to catch a Craigslist find found us on the road to Bay City. Before leaving, we decided to find a nice spot for dinner and turned to Yelp reviews. Heather's seemed to have the best reviews, and a diverse, creative menu. Neither myself or my girlfriend are vegetarians, but we are "vegetarian-friendly," so Heather's was naturally appealing. When we got there, it was about 25 minutes before close. The staff was polite enough and sat us at a small, two person table at the back of the long restaurant. There were a few others in the restaurant, including an older gentleman that seemed to be a bit of a "fixture" at the place. The menu was more than I expected, especially once we found out we could order breakfast, lunch or dinner. We both ordered off the lunch menu. I ordered the Mediterranean veggie burger, with a side of redskin American fries. My meal was $7, which even by Grand Rapids standards is very cheap. By Chicago standards, its ludicrously cheap. My girlfriend ordered the Falafel wrap, which I believe was $6 or $7. I was dumbfounded when I saw what I ordered. It was a massive slab of veggie burger concoction, very fresh and flavorful, on some of the freshest rye bread I've ever had, and loaded with feta and Swiss (vegans can forgo the cheese). A mound of browned, crispy potatoes filled the rest of the plate. The burger was really fantastic, and unlike any veggie burger I'd had anywhere else. It was a bit of a strange combination: rye, swiss, feta, roasted red pepper almond mayo, and a greek-influenced burger, but somehow it all worked. Very, very well. My girlfriend was equally pleased with her decision. The falafel was light and crispy without being greasy, and presented along side greens and yogurt sauce on a fresh wrap. Her side of baked butternut squash was fantastic, and not over-sweetened. Our entire meal came to just over $15, a bargain. If you ever find yourself in Bay City, Heather's is a must-try. Meat eaters needn't be wary, either -- there are plenty of meat dishes on the menu for any carnivore.

Very good food, I just wish I could have a glass of wine with my dinner. The food itself was out of this world though!!

LOVE Heather's! I was visiting family in Midland from Los Angeles, land of just about any kind of food you can imagine, and was thrilled to see a local vegan place open up so close to my family. We stopped in no less than three times during my visit, twice for lunch and once specifically to try some of the amazing desserts we saw on the menu. The food was all outstanding - seitan pot pie, un-chicken sandwich, and the best black bean burger I've ever had. Yummy soy chai latte. My mom, a non-vegan, ordered a sandwich with this incredible maple dressing that she absolutely raved about to anyone who would listen! On our quest for sugar we ordered the chocolate cake and the chocolate peanut butter pie. Both were wonderful, and left Mom astounded at the ability to make these yummy desserts vegan. I'm a vegan who occasionally falls off the wagon for cheese, and it doesn't bother me at all that there are non-vegan/vegetarian items on the menu. It brings people in who would never otherwise eat at a vegan restaurant, and my parents, both meat-eaters, were enticed to try the vegan selections once they got there anyway. Oh, and the price for the amount and quality of food you receive is excellent! Heather's can feed three people for the cost of one in L.A. So glad this place exists!

I have been meaning to write a review for Heather's for a while, my experiences there have always been really great, including the service, coffee and food. I'm really happy that a place like this exists in Bay City, too bad its after I moved away! The servers and always so friendly and happy, not to mention fast. The food is delicious and the plating is fun at times (hand shaped cracker was fantastic). Most of all the food is on the fresh and healthy side, which should be appreciated because it takes work. I try to go every time I get to Bay City, its worth it every time.

I love this place. The past two summers I have spent a lot of time in the Bay City/Saginaw area for work. At first I was really concerned about the lack of decent dining options in the area, but then I found Heathers. While in the area my colleague and I often ate two meals a day at Heather's and were never disappointed. Heathers is billed as a vegan/vegetarian place, but has something for every palate. The decor is cozy and charming and the service is fantastic. I just wish they were open later during the week. Dinner is only served on the weekends.

Cute atmosphere with lots of fresh food options. Had the garden salad and cup of soup. Great fresh flavors. Prices matched the quality:) They have gluten free options but you have to ask, they are not on the menu.

Summary: Heather's is a breath of fresh air for the Bay City food scene. They don't serve French fries, but they do serve delicious food that is sometimes vegan, sometimes healthy and almost always tasty and always interesting. They have a little something for everyone, and something out of the ordinary. They take the time and make the effort to make many of their menu items themselves, and the dedication pays off on your plate. The most important piece of advice I can give you about eating at Heather's is this: if you see chocolate cake in the bakery cabinet and you think you might want a slice, order it immediately. It won't last through dinner. eatingthemitten.wordpres…

We were in Bay City last weekend, stayed over on Saturday night. Found Heather's on the Happy Cow website. Oh, wow! We both loved it. Had lunch on Saturday and breakfast Sunday morning. Everything is very flavorful. I had the vegan Rueben-really, really good. Hubby had a sald with salmon, he really liked his selection. We left with two pieces of vegan chocolate cake. It was moist and delicious. Sunday, I had the tofu scramble, delicious! The bread used for the toast is nice and thick. Hubby had an egg scramble and really liked it. Coffee is great. We left with two chocolate peanut butter cupcakes. I'm eating the second one now. Very, very good! We will be back. So happy there's a restaurant up north like Heather's!!

Heather's is the truth! I love the variety of options in their menu for vegans, vegetarians, and meat eaters, which makes it a great place if you're going out with people who have different dietary needs/preferences. We went here for Sunday brunch. Service was great - Thanks Ashley! Food was very tasty. We had an issue with the salad my friend ordered and Ashley whisked it away and got it fixed immediately. No complaints whatsoever. The restaurant space itself is very cozy and warm. The store front is hiding a gem! FYI, they have short hours, which is understandable for the area they are in. Stop by for lunch all week or dinners on Friday/Saturday. Would love to come back for dinner soon to try their rotating menu :)

Cute, local, decent prices. Black bean burger was very good, but I don't recommend the fries, they were a bit soggy. Overall I didn't mind though, the burger was more than enough. I would go back.

I've been to Heather's four or so times, and I have to say it is a gem in the Bay City/ Saginaw area. First of all, I cannot think of another restaurant in the area that actually has many vegetarian dishes on the menu...let alone something like tofu bacon! The food is consistently tasty and unique, and the atmosphere is relaxing (luckily it's not like many breakfast hot spots where you end up waiting hours to get served). On this trip, I took my sister to try it for the first time. I ordered the breakfast scramble made with eggs, sauteed apples, goat cheese, basil and cranberries (which you could also get as a crepe or tofu scramble). Great combo; I highly recommend! My sister got the baked banana pancakes, which come out more like a muffin. However, when she dug in, they were light and fluffy, just like a great pancake. On my next trip to Heather's, I'd love to try the dinner (served from 4 - 8pm on Fridays and Saturdays with a changing menu each week).

We were driving through the area looking for a healthy option considering we had spent the weekend way up north without any vegan restaurants. We had Ashley for our server and she was friendly and attentive; in addition to being able to recommend several options for all of us. I had the vegan pot pie and my husband had the un chicken sandwich. My older son had the med burger and the two younger had Mac and cheese and grilled cheese. Not only was the food outstanding, everyone was really kind, which made this place feel like you were eating at a friend's house. There were these amazing crackers that came with the soup we tried and I had to take a bag home. Just lovely!

Heathers was an excellent find for us on our way home from Up North. We always make a point to try and find local food when traveling and we were very surprised to have found this gem. I had the chicken salad, which sounds boring but was amazing!! The chicken was not overly dressed, and instead was made with a mustard, cider and mayo base so much healthier. I loved having other options besides just fries as well. Happy to eat healthy with flavor. Service was fantastic too.

I just wanted to say it was Fantastic! I had the BBQ ribs, Mac and cheese, collard greens, and corn muffin. Everything was amazing and fresh tasting. I definitely will be coming here more.

Decent atmosphere, and I like what they are trying for. I've only been here once. My chicken pot pie was too salty, and the gravy part meh, overall could have been better. No wow factor for me. I prefer more of a creamy gravy base rather than a clear one though personally. With a little tweaking, maybe another veggie or two, etc it could have been amazing. Mom had a veggie burger, and she liked it. I'm interested to go back and try some other things on the menu in the future. Food in Bay City basically sucks, and this is one of the better places to go in Bay City. I can see this place continuing to improve, and hopefully put stress on places that serve bad food and get away with it. We need more places shy of microwaves, frozen/re-heated food, and non fresh ingredients in Bay City. They are trying, and I respect that. By the way, more people should YELP Bay City please!

thanks to yelp my husband and I came here for dinner. Both our meals were beyond delicious and so very healthy! I left feeling like a million. My husband and I returned from the RV park where we were staying and came for breakfast. I had the egg scramble with caramelized onion and portabella mushroom with Gorgonzola cheese. I asked them to add red peppers and spinach which they did with a good portion of each. I have never tasted such divine egg scramble and the grilled red potatoes were delicious as a side. We ordered the fruit filled crepes as a take out...no disappointment there. The hot chai is some of the best I have tasted.

Chose Heathers because yelpers gave it such raving reviews; and pretty much deserved. I chose the Onion, Portabello, Gorgonzola quiche. The flavors as expected; serving style unique because the veggies in the bottom of a single serve "bean pot" dish with scrambled eggs and cheese piled on top and broiled a minute to give the top a nice crusty texture. One side was given, I chose sunflower seed wheat toast (and there were a variety of breads to choose from). It was good but not over the top. $6-7 range. Hubby chose the spinach, tomato, black olive, feta, hummus quiche with a side of american home fries. I don't think he liked his as much as mine. $6-7 range. Over all the food was good but my main complaint would be that it was served cold even tho we were the only customers. Toast was dry, cold and tasteless. Home fries were under fried with no crust, just limp and cold. So I am dropping one star just for the cold food. Owner wanted it stated that they are not mainly a vegan place. There were meats on the menu-ham, bacon, chicken items i saw right off. But they do have vegan/vegetarian capabilities/choices. Breakfast and lunch can be ordered interchangeably, possibly all day; not sure on that one. So would we return; possibly but not sure. For the area it would probably be considered superior to most other restaurants.

I ordered the in-chicken which is made of tofu and it was extremely chewy and appeared to have been re-heated. The atmosphere was good but not worth the food. I don't know if they were just having a bad kitchen day or what but I probably will not go back if I am in the area again.

Every time I go to Heather's to eat I get something different, and it is always the BEST FOOD I have ever had! Since I can't pick a favorite I can tell you my wife's is the Un-chicken Sandwich

i have to say i was a bit thrown off by the "vegan, vegetarian" category yelpers assigned this restaurant. there are a few things on the menu that are vegan or vegetarian but there's also plenty of meat items. fair enough, happy to get anything other than meat, especially in such a rural area. i had a crab cake sandwich and my boyfriend had a seitan pot pie with a side of home fries with a vegan cheese topping. my sandwich was pretty good. the seitan pot pie's filling was a little strange, as was the vegan cheese. all of the portions weren't super big, but the prices were fair, so there you go. interesting place overall. if you're driving by, give it a try. also worth checking out downtown bay city which is a retro little town.

"Unique" is the key word to this lovely restaurant. Heathers is a great, healthy escape to the typical greasy spoon omelette shops of Mid-Michigan. The staff is friendly, it has a quiet/comfortable atmosphere, and the food is wonderful. I took my mother who is on Weight Watchers and she was excited to not have to worry about her points while enjoying her meal. The granola, crepes, baked pancakes, and squash were scrumptious. Made some of the recipes at home with great reviews too. One of the best breakfast places around.
